Mental Health Parity & Addiction Equity - Education

TO COME:  We look forward to offering the world of Higher Education a picture of the financial and insurance-driven complexities facing a patient (and the patient's family) who seek and undertake behavioral health treatment.  There is so much information not only relating to Mental Health Parity, but simply discussions and approaches to be considered and discussed regarding neutrally and informatively assisting patients with understanding the financial and insurance landscape relating to their treatment.  Ideally, we picture the development of a full course to help future providers and, ultimately, their patients.  The course would likely include information appropriate and relevant for the variation of degrees and treatment settings. Future providers should not be left to figure out mental health parity and their patients' financial challenges on their own for both their own sakes but also for their the sake of the patients and their families in need.
